"To My Friends"

Description

This is an secret message that I send to my friends who are sufferring from difficulties in their life. Based on people in society are shy to ask help from others, when they encounter difficulties or trouble, because most of people don't want to bother others, I did this project for sending my greeting to friends secretly, who are shy to ask help from others in their life while they are in trouble.

My inspiration was from my friend, who encountered the difficulties in his life of his own bussiness, but he was shy to tell with others, and he really care about the privacy while texting with others. He also worried about he got surveillance when he is texting with others. Have you guys seen the scene of no signal on TV? which is the snowflake on TV. This effect reminds me of the anti-surveillance, since people see this scene in the past, they knew it is no signal and people will switch to another channel. People won't expect to get more information from the snowflake screen. Therefore, it is another inspiration, as people will not pay attention to no signal scene. I use arrow keys to set function in this project, so that users can interact with the no signal screen and they can get message from this scene without being surveillance by others. Also at the beginning of the scene, I set a message by mouse pressed. Once you pressed your mouse you will get instruction so that you can go next step. For the text, my inspiration was from the meme, actually it is from a movie. The sentence in that movie was "I will find you and kill you", but what I did is a warm project, so I modified the sentence into "I will find you and hug you".

Reflection

Because of the interactive part in this project, I believe it is secretly and privacy for the users to check message or even send message. This anti-surveillance system design for the people who are shy to express their feeling when they are in trouble. For the visualization part, I used the snowflake effect, as in the past, when people saw the no-signal scene, people will just switch to another channel, because they know that there is nothing inside the snowflake scene, but for me, I decided to use this no signal effect to design this project. I found that when I use my laptop to play with this project, it lag so hard, I think it is because of the hardware stuffs cause this problem, so if you have the PC, use PC to open this page, so you can play it smoothly.
